We Put the "Fun" in Functional Writing!




We have become excellent "How To" functional writers. For the last few weeks the students have been working hard on meeting the functional writing standard. They have learned how to title their work, include 4 steps or more in their piece, use transition words (first, next, then and last)and label the picture to match their writing. We have a class full of experts on many different "How To" topics! As a class we have written about How to Brush Our Teeth, Skateboard, Bowl, Make Grapfruit Juice and many other exciting things that we know how to do. One of the students' favorite writing days was when Mr. Blakeman demonstated "How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich." Here are some pictures to give you a glimpse of our "Fun"ctional Writing!
